Goddess Mahagauri is worshipped on the eight day of Navratri. The 8th day of Navratri is dedicated to worship of Goddess Mahagauri . - the 8th form of NavDurga.

Navdurga which means Nine Durga is the manifestation of Durga in nine different forms. The concept of Navdurga originates from Goddess Parvati. Conceptually Navdurga is the life phase of Goddess Parvati who is considered supreme power among all Goddesses.The name Mahagauri means Maha -Means Great Gauri is extremely white, as she was white in color and very beautiful . Mahagauri is usually depicted with four hands. She rides a white bull, usually shown wearing white clothes.

Mahagauri is the eighth manifestation of goddess Durga and amongst the Navadurgas. Mahagauri is worshipped on the eighth day of Navaratri. According to Hindu mythology, Goddess Mahagauri has the power to fulfill all the desires of her devotees. The one who worships the goddess gets relief from all the sufferings in life.Mahagauri has four arms. Her right arm is in the pose of allaying fear and right lower hand holds a trident in it. She holds a tambourine in her left upper arm and the lower one is in the form of a blessing.Due to her fair complexion Goddess Mahagauri is compared with the conch, the moon and the white flower of Kunda She adorns white clothes only and due to that She is also known as Shwetambardhara.It is believed that the planet Rahu is governed by Goddess Mahagauri.she is also known as Vrisharudha.

Mother Gauri is Devi, Shakti or the Mother Goddess, who appears in many forms, such as Durga, Parvati, Kali, and others. She is auspicious, brilliant and protects the good people while punishing those who perform evil deeds. Mother Gauri enlightens the spiritual seeker and removes the fear of rebirth by granting salvation.
